Location
The InterContinental Resort boasts a prime waterfront location in Abu Soma, with a private beach, lavish landscaped gardens, idyllic lagoons and impressive sea views.
Around 60km south of Hurghada airport and 12km north of Safaga on the Red Sea coast of Egypt, Abu Soma is a peaceful resort with stretches of beautiful sandy beaches and is a great area for snorkelling.
A range of excursions and activities are available from Abu Soma and Soma Bay; from trips to Luxor or Cairo to exploring the desert on camel.

Diving Guests staying at the Intercontinental Abu Soma can dive with our chosen dive partner in Soma Bay, Orca Dive Club - located at the Sheraton Soma Bay. Orca offers a range of packages and courses for beginners and qualified divers including boat and shore diving. Please note guests staying at the Intercontinental must arrange and pay for transfers to and from the dive centre locally.
Snorkelling Guests at the InterContinental Abu Soma can use the beach at the Sheraton Soma Bay, located just across the road. The Sheraton Soma Bay has its own house reef, which can be accessed from the beach and offers good snorkelling opportunities. Equipment can be hired from the dive centre at the Sheraton. Alternatively, guests may wish to visit nearby sites such as Sharm el Naga. |
